Watch the California Condor Nest Cam – LIVE
This cosy california condor nest is located inside a coast redwood snag in Big Sur, California. The nest area is about 5 feet in diameter and is situated 60 feet above the ground. Due to the massive size of the tree, scientists believe it could be over 1000 years old! The condor mother will typically lay her eggs in February or March. Both the male and female condor will incubate the eggs for about two months. The eggs generally hatch in April or May. The young condors grow to adult size in just 6 months, at which time they will begin to fledge.
